What have we

Susan G. Duncan

What have we, here,

homegrown?

The best of it:

riven doggeries,

erratic facts,

left-handed

responses?

(the Niagara River?)

Risking everything,

the world only spins forward

from chaos to fragility.

(Holy moly, carry me!)

Tough luck—

(scissors, paper, rock)

falling, ill.
